This was the first set of real DX that I was able to make out above the noise. DK3EE was calling CQ on 80m and this is how it all went down.

I think I’m going to need a better receive antenna. A vertical, while good for low-angle transmit, it a noise magnet from what I hear. I’m thinking of getting something like a PixelSat antenna and mount that up on the roof or something. I’m hoping that I can dramatically cut down on the noise I’m getting… we shall see.
