Ham radio redux

With the Nepal earthquake thing I'm really starting to get a fire lit under me to get back on the air with ham radio.Still at this point we're in a position where amateur radio operators are some of the best at getting information out from a region where things have been pretty much clobbered. Being able to, with a relatively small amount of equipment, communicate thousands of miles is amazing.Of course my rig was stolen from the storage unit a couple months ago... but that doesn't stop me from getting another one.Between that, mounting an antenna or two on the roof (and likely needing to get my neighbor's permission to overhang her house a bit) and a generator I can get to a point where I can really be an asset to the neighborhood I'm in if there were to be an emergency.
