Alone Together

I had a bit of an email conversation with someone on the past couple of days.It centered around being different.Whenever you are different -- strike that -- perceive you are different -- there is a tendency to hold that difference to yourself. This is a problem, though not one that is easily solved. The problem is that the more you hold that in, the less likely you are to find anyone else that is different the same way as you.Not just that, but it has a flywheel effect. The less you are open about yourself, the more everyone else feels the same sense of "it's not OK to talk about it" that you yourself feel. The less they talk about it the less you talk about it the less they talk about it and so forth.<sigh/>The flywheel continues for a bit longer. I'll stop it -- at least for myself -- soon. If you read the blog enough you could likely make a couple of educated guesses.
