Limitations

Yesterday's post with all pictures was part of a grand experiment on my part. You've seen that I've ordered a crazy camera -- the Leica M type 240. That camera only has fixed focal-length lenses (well, except a couple odd-ball Tri-Elmar lenses, but that's a different story altogether)The experiment was to walk around with only one lens.Sure, I took down a collection. "Just in case" I told myself. With the 5D-II I brought along the 50mm f/1.4, 17-35mm f/2.8, 24-105mm f/4, 100mm f/2.8 macro, and the new lens I was trying out: a Sigma 35mm f/1.4.Other than a few shots with the 100mm macro for a cute little froggy that was hanging out by out campsite, all of pictures I took were with the new 35mm lens. I grew up with just having a 50mm lens. I made it work. I liked it. It took looking at a few internet sites to remind me that less sometimes is more. Sure enough, I made that lens work. I forced it to work. Hell, I only took that lens mounted on the camera on our hikes; I couldn't change lenses if I tried.know I can handle it now. In fact I kinda love the process more now. It's more of an active process than pointing, framing, and pushing the shutter. You need to get into it yourself and move yourself around.Oh, and my neck and back are for it as well!I'll review the new lens soon too!  :-D
