Never use power to attach a bolt (at least at first)

I managed to bugger at least four screws when I reassembled my bike after installing the new shocks.I thought I was being quick.I even thought I was being smart my starting on the absolutely lowest torque setting.Fail.Don't do it.Yesterday I lost my headlight (unrelated, ballast died) and I had to take the beak of the bike off. In doing so I ran into two screws I managed to completely fuck up. The backing nuts (flat nuts in BMW parlance -- they clip onto extensions of the frame) were hosed too. This is after the fiasco with the luggage rack and two more sets of fasteners getting jibbered.TL;DR: don't use power to attach screws or bolts. Even at the lowest setting you won't know that you've just screwed up.
