Upgrades -- Lightroom 6

I know some people (yeah, I'm looking at you Holly) are reticent to upgrade software. I'm not one of those folks.Ok, I used to be even more not one of those people... I installed all sorts of bleeding edge betas and developer builds of all sorts of things. It's called bleeding edge for a reason.Well, while I've mostly gotten out of the beta cycle, I'm still excited to get to play with new things -- even if some of the edges are still a bit rougher than you would typically want to use.Today's upgrade doesn't seem to have rough edges though: Lightroom 6, or is it Lightroom 2015, or perhaps Lightroom CC. I don't think Adobe has figured out what they're calling it yet. That said it has one really killer feature that I've been longing after for years: face recognition. This is important to me because I can't recognize faces worth a damn.In my beginning playing with it I have to say it does a pretty good job with the limited amount of training I've given it.It's also a lot faster in certain operations since it's using the GPU to speed up some of the rendering operations. Some of what used to be kind of jerky is now completely real-time. I dig it.I just installed it a few hours ago so this is still just my first reaction to it -- but I have to say that I'm liking it so far!
