Rock Chargers Reborn

Back a few months our storage unit was raided and the thieves got away with a bunch of stuff -- one of which (ok, two) was the "rock chargers."I wrote about building them last time so I won't get into all the details this time since it's the same process. This time I used the exact same technique, but finally got back to making them rocks again. One thing I want to point out is the neatness of the soldering. I did this with the new Hakko 951. It was so much easier to make all the connections with a proper soldering rig that's easier to handle and has the correct temperature the entire time.  A few minutes of kneading the epoxy and molding it around the chargers was all it took. Within 10 minutes it was essentially set to a rock-like consistency. This was an old stick of epoxy to boot. I think I got it back in 2010. While it had gotten a bit harder since I used it last, it still worked a treat.
