High Desert

As I did one of my longer drives of the trip from Page, AZ (right at the tip of Lake Powell) to Moab I went over some beautiful snow-frosted desert.

As I was climbing up through the mountains it was cold. But the sun came out a bit. I purchased some jewelry from the Navaho woman who set up shop at the pull-off from Route 163.

It was still early enough in the morning that the sun hadn't burnt off the snow. I was still low enough elevation that the sun would burn off the snow.

An hour or two later... I would be in the snow.
