Who benefits?

As I'm writing this there has been fewer than 100 deaths caused by the much talked about coronavirus. Most of those have been in one nursing home in a suburb of Seattle. This is far fewer than the H1N1 swine flu had at this stage.

But look at the economic devastation that's being caused by the panic. Senseless panic if I had to say.

The media is being enriched by all of the extra eyeballs they have.

Megacorporations who can outlast the mom and pop shops.

Why is this? I think it's because of the money. It's not because people are getting sick. It's because we can make money on those people getting sick.
