Bird Rescue

I went out to the barn to look at the smoker we used yesterday for the turkey. As I was walking back to the house I realized that I had nearly stepped on this little guy just sitting on the sidewalk by my back door.

My best guess is that he flew into one of the windows of the Florida Room.

This spot was going to be in the shade all day and it was still a bit chilly.

I went to pick him up, but he fluttered up and landed in my hands. Before, on the ground, he was shivering. Now he was rather content to sit on my hand. He even let me use my other hand to cover him up and make a nice warm tent for him.

He stopped shivering.

I set him down in a sunny patch to warm up. Well, I tried to. He didn't want to leave my hand. He was quite content to just let me pet him.

I had to basically pick him up to put him down on the ground since he was clinging to me.

He sat in the sun for the better part of an hour. Eventually I guess he warmed up enough and flew away.
