iMac Upgrade

The hard drive in my iMac upstairs in my office was starting to get janky. I know there were a couple of bad blocks on there and it was annoying for two reasons: first because I was losing data, second because when the drive ran into a bad block it would hang for a minute or two while the drive retried --and failed -- at reading it.Last week I finally bit the bullet and ordered an SSD.The biggest problem was getting an adapter that would convert the 2.5" SSD into a 3.5" form factor in a way that would work with the iMac which has a peculiar mounting scheme. My third try worked. The only close call I had was tipping the display panel a tad too far and I heard what sounded like a crack as the display cable started to pull out of the socket. My heart sank right there.Thankfully things are still working. And working fast.I have one small problem in that the display panel isn't fully seating where it's supposed to. I'm not sure what's interfering with it, but I'll fix it over the weekend when there's more light.
